Senior Tax Attorney - 5+ Years Tax Litigation Experience Required

*Position Overview:*

We are seeking a highly skilled *Senior Tax Litigation Attorney* with a minimum of *5 years of experience* in *tax* *controversy* and *criminal and civil tax litigation*. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing clients before the IRS, U.S. Tax Court, and other relevant forums.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Represent clients in IRS audits, appeals, and collection matters.
* Handle civil and criminal tax litigation, including trials and administrative proceedings.
* Develop legal strategies for resolving complex tax disputes.
* Prepare and file motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
* Conduct legal research and provide written analyses on various tax controversy matters.
* Advise clients on potential tax liabilities and defense strategies.
* Negotiate settlements with taxing authorities.
* Stay updated on federal and state tax laws and regulations.

*Qualifications:*

* Active member in good standing with Michigan State Bar; additional admission to the U.S. Tax Court preferred.
* Minimum *5 years of experience* in tax controversy and civil/criminal tax litigation.
* Strong understanding of IRS administrative procedures and tax court practice.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

*Preferred Skills:*

* LLM in Taxation.
* Experience with offshore voluntary disclosures and FBAR issues.
* Background in white-collar criminal defense is a plus.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
