Behavior Interventionist Taylor High School

The Behavior Interventionist will provide behavioral interventions under teacher supervision. The successful candidate will provide individual and small group support to at-risk students identified through MTSS.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Associate degree or 60 hours of college credit; BA or BS and teaching experience (preferred).
• Experience working with students in groups and individually.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Ability to carry out all assignments given by teachers and the building administrator.
• Ability to complete and maintain required records, forms, and reports in a professional and timely manner.
• Ability to be flexible, to work independently, and to contribute as a member of a team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, allocate time, and maintain schedule flexibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of certified personnel, the interventionist will work with individual or small groups of students to provide behavioral interventions and progress monitor academic achievement.
• Implement behavior or specific intervention plans for students. This may include, but is not limited to, the use of appropriate resources and technology to promote development of critical thinking, problem solving, and social behavior interventions.
• Collect and provide data to the school teams while also participating in decisions about student progress.
• Participate in MTSS processes, universal screening activities, and data analysis to identify students in need of behavior support.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify student needs, set learning goals, and develop best practices for academic and behavioral growth.
• Attend team/parent meetings to provide input on student strengths, challenges, and intervention strategies.
• Attend and participate in professional development dealing with substance abuse, anger management, as well as other appropriate behavior-related topics. Interventionists will share new learning with building staff as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior while performing duties assigned by building leadership.
• Duties as assigned that support student achievement in the MTSS process.

Salary and Benefits:

• Up to 6.5 hours per day (one half hour unpaid lunch), 5 days a week.
• $27.30 - Certified personnel (Current teaching certification or Bachelor's in Education)
• $18.55 - Non-Certified personnel (Associate's Degree or equivalent course work)
• 10 days leave per year.

This position is grant funded and continuation of the position in subsequent years depends on the availability of funds.
