Medical Lab Technologist

Labcorp

Labcorp seeks a Medical Lab Technologist for the microbiology department in Portland, Oregon. The role involves performing laboratory testing procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring specimen quality on a night shift schedule with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established laboratory criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental protocols
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents and quality control materials
Document preventative maintenance and maintain accurate test result reporting

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Science, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
One year or more clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
Proficient with computers and laboratory information systems
Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
ASCP or AMT certification preferred
Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills
