Director OF Plant Operations

Job Title: Director, Facility Operations (FY27) Wage Range: $138,683 - $193,078. Summary Description of Classification Under the direction of the Division of Facilities Management, the Director is responsible for planning and administering the countywide school plant operations program. They ensure that schools and buildings are safe, clean, and that heating and air conditioning equipment remains in proper operating condition. The Director supervises, organizes, and leads staff and facility operations to ensure all aspects of facility operations function properly and efficiently. Physical Demands: None. Special Requirements: Ability to respond to emergency situations at any time and to work unusual hours or overtime as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of the Board of Education, local, state, and federal laws, rules, policies, regulations, and procedures related to building operations. Knowledge of school plant and building service practices, procedures, and methods. Ability to plan, administer, and maintain effective and efficient school plant and building service programs. Excellent organizational ability, oral and written communication, and human relations skills. Education, Training, and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in school administration, facilities management, business administration, or a related field is required. At least five years of increasingly responsible leadership experience related to plant operations in a large private or government organization is preferred.
