Job Summary The role of the Director of Physician Services (DPS) II is a strategic leader who oversees a clinical operations market with 51 or more providers. The DPS II supports hospital facilities operations management related to physicians across primary care, specialists, and subspecialists in hospital and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include oversight of operations, budget, and general management of a portfolio of practices within a defined geographic area or specialty. This individual will engage in strategic and tactical communications with the relevant hospital division and build effective partnerships with hospital and operations team members. Responsibilities Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional care, creating an unmatched value proposition for patients. Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, remove barriers and resistance, and enable desirable behavior. Collaborate effectively with division service line leaders and hospital business development leaders. Proactively identify practice/business development opportunities to increase market share. Direct and manage strategic projects for patient flow, patient satisfaction, practice volume, billing and collections, service utilization, coding, physician and staff training. Oversee strategic and tactical operational responsibility for business and clinical functions, including administrative and clinical staff, to ensure maximum utilization of resources and efficient delivery of services. This includes human resources responsibilities. Develop, implement and monitor practice budgets, analyze financial impact of changes and forecasts, and recommend corrective action as required. Supervise physicians and practice staff and meet regularly with constituents, including operations leadership, physicians, and hospital administration to review practice strategy, market and division goals, financial performance and key indicators. Oversee physician recruiting and contracting in collaboration with other PSG colleagues. Work with physicians and division leadership to provide innovative practice growth and quality solutions that maintain and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. Promote consistent patient interactions that advance the agenda of increased patient satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in health or business administration required. Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred. CMPE completion preferred. 3+ years of leadership experience in practice management of multiple locations required. 5+ years of relevant clinical operations experience required.
