Details Work in a hospital Cardiovascular Unit providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge Care for pre/post-cardiac intervention patients including PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, and TAVR Also monitor patients with atypical chest pain Full-time night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week Weekend and holiday coverage required per unit needs Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required BLS and ACLS certification required ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures Additional Information Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings per RN scope of practice and hospital policy Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the interprofessional team Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members, ensuring accuracy and completeness of care Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, and pressure ulcer/CAUTI reduction efforts Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practice American Traveler Job ID P-745562.
