Superintendent - Commercial Construction

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent - Commercial Construction to lead the successful delivery of commercial building projects from mobilisation through to completion. This role is responsible for coordinating all on-site construction activities, maintaining a safe and productive work environment, and ensuring projects are delivered to approved plans, specifications, schedules and quality standards. The successful candidate will be a confident site leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to manage complex construction programs.


Key responsibilities include supervising daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and internal project teams, and monitoring progress against project milestones. You will review drawings, scopes and construction documentation; identify and resolve site issues; manage inspections and quality control processes; and ensure work complies with relevant building codes, regulations and safety requirements. The role will also involve leading toolbox talks, maintaining accurate site records, supporting programming and forecasting, reviewing subcontractor performance, and communicating regularly with project managers, clients and stakeholders. You will be expected to anticipate risks, implement practical solutions and maintain high standards of workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.


Applicants should have significant experience supervising commercial construction projects, ideally across areas such as office, retail, industrial, education, health or mixed-use developments. A relevant trade qualification, diploma or degree in construction management is desirable, together with current construction safety accreditation and a strong understanding of workplace health and safety obligations. You will need demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, interpreting technical documentation and delivering projects in live or high-pressure environments. Strong organisational, problem-solving and leadership abilities are essential, as is proficiency with construction scheduling, reporting and project management systems.
