Nursing Professional Development Specialist- Ambulatory Surgery Centers

Job Title

This position will require frequent local travel to multiple Ambulatory Surgery Centers within AHN around the Pittsburgh area, as well as coverage of Grove City Hospital.

General Overview

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the educational activities for the assigned area(s) and participating in meeting the educational needs for assigned area(s).

Essential Responsibilities

1. Plans, develops, implements and evaluates educational programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
2. Works in collaboration with leadership and staff to facilitate and implement quality and performance improvement initiatives.
3. Serves as an educational consultant for leadership and staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, regulatory compliance, professional development, and other assigned committee work.
4. Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs.
5. Conducts and analyzes formal and informal learning needs with leadership and staff. Develops and implements annual competency and education plan(s).
6. Performs other duties as assigned or required, including direct patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Education -OR- relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of Master's Degree in Nursing or Education
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• 2 years of relevant clinical experience and 2 years of education/training experience

Preferred

• Certification in area of specialty
• Procedural/PeriOp Nursing Experience highly preferred
