Senior Python AI Engineer - Agentic AI

Salary: $156,000 - 166,400 per year Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with Python, microservices, API development/integration, and MongoDB.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI experience preferred.
• Strong backend Python development experience building and supporting microservices-based applications.
• Experience designing and consuming APIs.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI frameworks, AI orchestration, MongoDB, and vector databases.
• Skills in Python software engineering, REST APIs, microservices architecture, distributed systems, backend services, FastAPI, AsyncIO, multiprocessing, performance tuning and profiling, caching, database and query optimization, event-driven architecture, and highly available, fault-tolerant system design.
• Generative AI and LLM skills, including AI application development, multi-agent workflow design, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), hybrid and knowledge graph-enhanced RAG, prompt engineering and orchestration, tool calling, LLM routing and fallback strategies, fine-tuning evaluation, model evaluation, hallucination detection, human-in-the-loop validation, text-to-SQL, schema-aware prompting, embeddings, and semantic search.
• AI platform and architecture skills, including enterprise AI architecture, scalable AI workflows, governance standards, guardrails, responsible AI controls, PII redaction, audit logging, model usage monitoring, latency/cost/accuracy optimization, AI/ML feature engineering, recommendation systems, and feedback loops for model improvement.
• Data engineering experience with Kafka and streaming data pipelines.
• Vector database architecture, semantic retrieval, re-ranking, and embedding pipeline skills.
• Financial services experience is not required.

• Build, deploy, enhance, and support Agentic AI solutions and AI agents that orchestrate and automate marketing campaign activities.
• Develop backend services and microservices, including designing and integrating APIs.
• Contribute hands-on code as the team scales and improves its AI agent platform.
• Collaborate with developers and architects through team standups and day-to-day technical coordination.
• Communicate technical needs and blockers to the team.

We are hiring a Python Developer for a three-month contract, with the possibility of extension, based in San Francisco, California. The role is hybrid, with three days onsite each week. Youll join our Consumer Technology Marketing Technology organization and contribute to a highly visible, strategic bank initiative developing greenfield Agentic AI solutions. Since launching in March, the team has built six agents, with initial production agents scheduled to go live on August 24 and a longer-term roadmap of more than 20 agents. This hands-on role offers substantial technical ownership, a supportive and engaged team, and potential extension or conversion opportunities.
