Operations Leadership | Distribution, Fulfillment & Logistics

Are you a proven operations leader who thrives in fast-paced distribution and fulfillment environments? Do you excel at building high-performing teams, driving customer satisfaction, and delivering operational excellence?

We are seeking a General Manager to lead customer operations within our growing logistics and fulfillment network. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the site, including safety, customer satisfaction, operational execution, financial performance, team engagement, and continuous improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on leader who can build strong customer relationships, develop talent, and deliver exceptional service while achieving business objectives.

What You'll Do

Lead Safe, High-Performing Operations

• Champion a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain and continuously improve safety programs, operating procedures, and workplace practices.
• Monitor and reduce workplace injuries, product damage, and equipment incidents.
• Ensure inventory accuracy through effective cycle count and inventory control programs.
• Develop contingency plans to address operational disruptions, labor challenges, transportation issues, system outages, and inventory concerns.

Build Strong Customer Partnerships

• Serve as the primary operational leader and trusted partner for customer accounts.
• Lead regular business reviews focused on service performance, KPIs, continuous improvement initiatives, and financial results.
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Ensure contractual commitments and service level agreements are consistently achieved.

Develop and Inspire Teams

• Coach, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team.
• Foster a positive, engaged, and inclusive workplace culture.
• Promote open communication through regular team meetings and employee engagement initiatives.
• Drive succession planning and leadership development across all operational levels.
• Implement effective onboarding and training programs to support team member success.
• Recognize and reward individual and team achievements.

Drive Financial & Operational Excellence

• Manage site P&L and ensure financial objectives are achieved.
• Develop and execute business plans that improve productivity, service, and profitability year over year.
• Monitor operational budgets and provide clear explanations for financial variances.
• Establish controls that ensure spending remains within approved budgets.
• Utilize operational data and analytics to make informed business decisions.

Lead Continuous Improvement

• Drive process improvements that enhance safety, quality, service, and productivity.
• Ensure SOPs remain current, effective, and are consistently followed.
• Support quality assurance and food safety requirements where applicable.
• Partner effectively with IT, Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Project Management, and Continuous Improvement teams to achieve operational goals.

What You'll Bring

Experience

• 10+ years of distribution, warehousing, fulfillment, or supply chain experience.
• Experience leading operations within a 3PL environment preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large operational teams.
• Experience in eCommerce fulfillment, retail fulfillment, omnichannel distribution, or high-volume logistics operations.
• Proven experience managing customer relationships and achieving contractual KPIs.
• Strong background in budget management and operational financial performance.

Skills & Competencies

• Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
• Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Highly analytical with strong financial acumen and experience interpreting operational metrics.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Data-driven mindset focused on continuous improvement and business results.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Professional logistics or supply chain designation is considered an asset.
