Foreman

We’re hiring a Foreman for one-of-a-kind, high-end residential project. Dowbuilt foremen are bags‑on lead carpenters and the right hand of our site superintendents. They are responsible for reading plans, lining‑out subcontractors and crew, and about 50% of their time is spent on tools and putting high‑quality work in place while communicating expectations with precision and clarity. This position sets a well‑rounded lead carpenter up for a successful transition into a superintendent role over time, working with teams dedicated to the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship. What You’ll Do Put work in place; execute framing carpentry while lining out other crew members and sub‑trades. Layout tasks and participation in quality control for all scopes of work – both self‑performed and subcontracted. Assist in creating site documentation and as‑built drawings. Serve as first point of contact for subcontractor questions. Collaborate with subcontractors to find solutions; bring possible solutions to the superintendent. Estimate materials and time for proposed work. Run small projects as a working lead, coordinating crew to maximize productivity. Work with the superintendent to create a daily schedule and take responsibility for its execution. Represent the company when the superintendent is unavailable. Open and close the job site as requested. Discuss work with clients, architects, partners, and inspectors with diplomacy, clarity, and patience as necessary. Maintain effective, respectful communication with field crew, subs, clients, partners, and the team at all times. Minimize material use to prevent waste and unnecessary cost. Manage material deliveries, handling, storage, and placement. Advocate for safety in action and attitude; reinforce awareness to reduce injury risk or citation, and know OSHA requirements for the location and site. Maintain a safe and secure site, ensuring safety of all people, tools, and materials. Maintain accurate documentation in the daily job log. What You Need to Succeed 6+ years of high‑end residential carpentry experience; highly competent and skilled in framing. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications; understand vertical and horizontal control lines. Advanced construction math skills. Ability to think ahead and see the big picture; understand how today’s work impacts what’s coming next. Proficiency with proper use of tools and equipment, including specialty tools. Excellent communication and team‑building skills. Ability to give and receive direction. Technical constructability knowledge and experience with both traditional and new materials. Reliable transportation and a clean driving record. U.S. work authorization. Spanish conversational proficiency is highly preferred. The base pay range for this position is $42.00 – $54.00 per hour. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. New hires typically start below the midpoint of the range, with the opportunity for growth and advancement over time.
