An Auto Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing general automotive vehicles within a small team environment. This position involves conducting thorough vehicle inspections and performing a variety of mechanical repairs and routine maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle safety and optimal performance. The role offers consistent 9-5 work hours with occasional weekend shifts and opportunities for advancement to lead mechanic or supervisory positions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify issues
- Perform engine repair and maintenance
- Service and repair brake systems
- Handle transmission repairs and servicing
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical system problems
- Complete routine maintenance tasks
- Replace automotive parts as needed
- Engage with customers to explain repairs and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in automotive repair
- Proficient in engine diagnostics
- Skilled in brake system repair
- Experienced with transmission servicing
- Adept at electrical systems troubleshooting
