Overview
Radiation Therapist (Radiation Therapy Tech) in Watertown, New York. This travel assignment begins 10/01/2026 for 13 weeks in a hospital-based oncology department. Expect guaranteed 40 hours per week with a day shift schedule (8:00 am–4:30 pm), 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week. The assignment involves a 100-mile radius rule. NY license in hand and relevant clinical experience are required.

Responsibilities
- Deliver external beam radiation therapy per provider orders, ensuring accurate treatment delivery.
- Prepare and position patients using proper immobilization devices and instructions to ensure accurate targeting.
- Operate and troubleshoot the Varian TrueBeam platform with IX and Aria software, following established protocols.
- Verify treatment data in planning and record-keeping systems; confirm patient identifiers, treatment sites, and dose calculations.
- Monitor patients during sessions; respond to in-treatment concerns and document any adverse events or deviations.
- Collaborate with the oncology team to verify treatment plans, adjust as needed, and maintain patient safety and quality standards.
- Maintain licensure, registrations, and continuing education as required by state and federal regulations.
- Document all treatment sessions and communicate any changes to the care team promptly.

Requirements
- Licensure: New York license in hand required
- Experience: At least 1 year of radiation therapy experience
- Education: Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
- Certification/registrations: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Knowledge/skills: Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology; ability to work within a hospital oncology setting and maintain all required registries and licenses
