Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) surgical technologist specializing in ophthalmology at a surgery center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is responsible for supporting surgical procedures within the ophthalmology specialty. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This position involves working between four and five 8-hour shifts per week, with variable start times between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., and includes on-call duties.

Job Details:

• Location: Milwaukee, WI
• Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Ophthalmology
• Schedule: 4-5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, with variable start times (6 a.m. to 7 a.m.)
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS); experience in ophthalmology including cataract, retinal, orthopedic, carpal tunnel, breast/plastics; 2 years of experience; current BLS certificate; location in Wisconsin; no minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting ophthalmology surgical procedures such as cataract and retinal surgeries.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Support on the unit is provided by charge nurse, supervisor, and manager. Surgical scrubs are provided by the hospital; scrub caps are permitted but must be covered with a surgical bouffant. No call rooms are available. On-call per contract includes one holiday, with a 30-minute response time.
• Responsibilities include assisting in ophthalmology surgical cases, maintaining sterile techniques, and supporting surgical staff as needed.
