Payroll SpecialistRecruiter: LHHLocation: Houston, TexasPay: $33 - $36.06 / HourContract: Contract to hirePayroll SpecialistLocation: Houston, TXSchedule: Full-time, on-site (Monday – Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.)Pay Range: $33.00/hr. - $36.06/hr.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare timesheets and verify employee hours.Update employee payroll records.Coordinate with the Controller to ensure payroll transactions are posted correctly.Handle payroll taxes and benefits deductions.Remit Form 941 payroll tax payments.Process child-support payments/garnishments.Process weekly payrollComplete certified payroll on a per job basisReport monthly union hours and remit paymentsResponsible for processing new hire and termination paperwork as well as governmental reportingMonthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliationsMaintain MVR databaseRespond to employee payroll questions.Perform payroll/HR reporting and data entry.Reconcile payroll information to financial records on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information.Support other responsibilities assigned by the Controller.QualificationsPayroll administration experience, including payroll data entry, verification and processing.Construction or mechanical-contracting industry experience is preferred.Sage 300 CRE experience is preferred, but not required.Knowledge of payroll schedules, deductions and employee changes.Understanding of payroll taxes and related compliance requirements.Basic accounting/reconciliation skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency with payroll/HR systems and Microsoft Excel.Benefits:100% paid for by employer for employee and dependents
