Radiology Student Tech

The Radiology Student Tech position is designed to provide hands-on clinical experience and foundational knowledge in radiologic technology within a healthcare setting. This role supports radiologic technologists by assisting in the preparation and positioning of patients for imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The student tech will gain practical exposure to various imaging modalities, including X-rays, under the supervision of licensed professionals, contributing to accurate diagnostic outcomes. This position serves as a critical step in the educational journey of aspiring radiologic technologists, blending academic learning with real-world application. Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Must be a senior.
• Basic understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision in a clinical environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including infection control procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience or clinical rotations in a healthcare or radiology setting.
• Familiarity with radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
• CPR certification or other relevant healthcare certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to handle patient care with empathy and professionalism.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.

Responsibilities:

• Assist radiologic technologists in preparing patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
• Operate basic radiology equipment under supervision to capture preliminary images as part of the learning process.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and equipment to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Document patient information and imaging details accurately in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Observe and adhere to radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
