Quality Inspector

A well-established advanced materials manufacturer is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the production of highly technical components used in demanding aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.

In this role, you will help ensure consistent product quality by performing inspections, checks, and tests throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming materials through final inspection. You will evaluate materials and components at different stages of production, document your findings, report nonconformances, and recommend opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, work-in-process components, and finished products according to established procedures
• Verify that required manufacturing steps and documentation have been completed correctly
• Perform visual, dimensional, functional, and weight inspections
• Use precision inspection tools and techniques to confirm product specifications
• Complete inspection calculations using proper rounding and significant digits
• Prepare standard inspection reports and supporting documentation
• Identify and document nonconforming materials or components
• Recommend improvements to inspection processes and related documentation
• Follow company quality standards, operating procedures, and safety requirements
• Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• One to two years of related quality inspection experience involving technical or precision-manufactured components
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 or AS9100-certified environment
• Experience using precision measurement and inspection tools
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple detail-oriented priorities under tight deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• A professional, quality-focused approach with a strong sense of urgency
• Willingness to work overtime when business needs require it

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical school training
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, or GD&T
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine, or CMM
• General machining knowledge or formal machining coursework
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
