Assistant Director Of Football Nutrition

The University of Michigan Football Program is currently seeking applicants for an Assistant Director of Football Nutrition. The Performance Nutrition program at Michigan provides an evidence-based and sport-specific approach to fueling student-athletes for optimal health and performance. Under the direction of the Director of Football Nutrition, the Director of Strength & Conditioning, and the Head Football Coach, this position will work closely with coaches, strength & conditioning, athletic training, team physicians, and performance psychology as part of a comprehensive performance team to ensure the health and welfare of all Michigan student-athletes.

Responsibilities*

• Provide football student-athletes with nutrition-focused counseling, education, and development
• Oversee day-to-day Fueling Station operations and student workers, including inventory
• Assist in conducting and evaluating body composition testing (iDXA and other methods)
• Support on-field hydration, fueling, and monitoring of student-athletes
• Assist in coordinating nutrition for team travel
• Maintain confidentiality in all dealings with student-athletes, coaches, and staff
• Adhere to all department, university, Big Ten, and NCAA policies and regulations
• Assist and collaborate with the Senior Associate Director to execute department nutrition services
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach, Senior Associate Director, and Director of Strength & Conditioning

Required Qualifications*

• Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA Division I Rules and Regulations as well as Big Ten bylaws
• Masters Degree
• RD/RDN active status through Commission on Dietetic Registration by Jan 1st, 2027
• 1-2 Years Sports Nutrition experience
• Ability to work a non-standard work week; including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all members of the Performance Nutrition staff and other athletic department personnel
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• CPR/AED Certified by October 1st, 2026
