Senior Reinsurance Counsel

Reinsurance Legal Counsel Location: New York, NY (HYBRID) Overview A leading and growing insurance carrier is seeking an Reinsurance Legal Counsel to support a high-growth insurance carrier. This role partners closely with executive leadership to provide strategic legal advice across commercial transactions, technology initiatives, product development, and business operations. This is a highly visible position offering significant interaction with senior leadership and the opportunity to help shape a rapidly evolving business. Key Responsibilities Lead the legal execution of strategic transactions, including commercial partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, and other corporate development initiatives. Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including technology (SaaS), vendor, strategic partnership, and data-sharing agreements. Support product development and strategic partnerships within the retirement and financial services ecosystem. Provide practical legal guidance while identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risks. Advise on governance, marketing, compliance, ethics, and related corporate matters. Partner with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to drive business initiatives efficiently. Qualifications J.D. with an active U.S. bar license. 5+ years of experience in a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department. Strong reinsurance exposure.
