From cutting-edge resources and a collaborative environment to the freedom to make an impact and more, you'll find the ingredients you need at LPL Financial to shape your success while helping clients pursue their financial goals.The Assistant Vice President of Accounting Policy will work with the Vice President of Accounting Policy, business partners in finance, accounting and external reporting, and stakeholders across the company to support the accounting for complex and non-routine transactions, enhance and maintain the Company's significant accounting policies, and create technical capacity in support of high-quality external disclosures as the Company's size, scope, and complexity increases.We want someone with a strong accounting background who will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with multiple concurrent projects. This person should have excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.Roles & ResponsibilitiesPlan, conduct, manage and coordinate research and written documentation of technical accounting issues and reporting matters regarding technically complex transactions, new business initiatives, acquisitions, and new contracts.Enhance and maintain the Company's significant accounting policies to reflect changes due to new transactions, changes in the business, or standards issuedMonitor the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies (i.e., SEC, FASB), and work closely with members of Finance to assess the impact on the Company, ensure awareness of transactions and accounting impactsAssist in implementation of new accounting pronouncements and related process changesServe as a key liaison with external auditors on technical accounting mattersAssist in the development of training on technical topics and presentations to the CompanyParticipate in the successful execution of SOX and regulatory controlsProvide guidance to various groups, primarily within Finance, on the proper accounting for new business transactions, and partner with groups to develop policy on new or modified processes.Serve as subject matter expert and communicate complex results in a clear and concise manner.What are we looking for?We're looking for strong collaborators who deliver exceptional client experiences and thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments. We value those who embrace creativity, continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture where we win together and create and share joy in our work.RequirementsMinimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in Accounting Policy, Financial/SEC Reporting with an understanding of internal controls and proper supporting documentationExperienced in public accounting with a consulting backgroundCPA license requiredCore Competencies:Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently to accomplish objectives and meet deadlinesAdvanced ability to research and interpret US GAAP technical accounting guidance, as well as develop and document accounting policies based on this researchCritical thinker with strong analytical skillsStrong writing, presentation and communication skills and ability to easily explain complex accounting issues and conclusions to a variety of audiencesPreferences:Big 4 experience preferredFinancial Services experience preferredPay Range:$103,206.00 - $172,010.00 Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
