Job Description Job Description Scheduling & Billing Coordinator Speech at the Beach is looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Scheduling & Billing Coordinator to join our growing speech therapy practice! We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a busy healthcare office and has experience with medical billing, scheduling, and administrative systems . The ideal person is familiar with speech therapy billing and insurance , enjoys keeping things organized, and can confidently communicate with families and our therapy team. Position Details ** Position: ** Scheduling & Billing Coordinator ** Hours: ** Approximately 36 hours per week ** Schedule: ** Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM ** Fridays: ** No regular Friday hours ** Location: ** In-person at our Virginia Beach office ** Pay: ** Based on experience ** Start Date: ** Flexible / ASAP What You’ll Be Doing Manage therapist schedules and coordinate appointments Schedule evaluations and ongoing therapy appointments Communicate with families regarding scheduling, cancellations, waitlists, and appointments Submit and follow up on speech therapy claims Verify insurance benefits and assist with authorizations Review billing and insurance information for accuracy Follow up on outstanding claims and unpaid balances Assist with patient accounts and billing questions Maintain accurate client information and documentation Work within SimplePractice for scheduling, billing, documentation, and client management Organize and maintain files and information through Google Drive/Google Workspace Communicate with therapists regarding schedules, authorizations, and billing needs Help keep our office systems running smoothly and efficiently We’re Looking For Someone Who: Has previous experience with medical billing and/or healthcare administration Is familiar with speech therapy billing and insurance Has experience with scheduling in a healthcare or therapy setting Is comfortable using SimplePractice Is proficient with Google Drive/Google Workspace Is highly organized and detail-oriented Can multitask and prioritize in a busy environment Communicates professionally and warmly with families Is dependable, proactive, and comfortable working independently Enjoys being part of a small, supportive team Bonus Points For: Previous experience working in a speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or pediatric therapy practice Experience with insurance companies commonly used for speech therapy Experience with authorizations, eligibility checks, claims, denials, and accounts receivable Familiarity with SimplePractice billing workflows About Speech at the Beach Speech at the Beach is a family-centered speech therapy practice in Virginia Beach.
