Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, ensuring prompt and effective treatment in high-pressure situations. Responsible for coordinating patient assessments, interventions, and education, while collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients upon arrival through thorough physical, social, and psychological assessments.
• Develop and update individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with protocols and standards.
• Respond to medical and surgical emergencies with crisis intervention techniques.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State RN License required.
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and patient advocacy skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing, walking, and bending.
