Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller Location: On-site in San Antonio, TX Compensation: $130,000 – $145,000 A commercial real estate development and construction company is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting. This position offers exposure to both corporate and project-level accounting and is ideal for someone looking to advance into a leadership role. What’s in it for you as Assistant Controller: Competitive pay with full benefits package Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays 401(k) with company match Opportunities for advancement in a supportive, team-oriented culture Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller: Responsible for month-end close, prepare and analyze financial statements, and budgets Reconcile and validate entries to balance sheet and income statement accounts Assist in managing working capital, including weekly project cash reports and recording transfers/wires Assemble, submit, and track equity funding or loan draws Support budgeting, forecasting, and project-level financial reporting Assist in developing accounting procedures and strategies to improve record-keeping and reporting Complete forecasting and analysis to ensure accuracy of job cost reports Collaborate with development directors on project budget management Support Controller with audits, compliance, and team leadership initiatives Qualifications of the Assistant Controller: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA preferred but not required 4+ years of GAAP full cycle accounting experience Experience with Sage or similar ERP accounting software Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail #J-18808-Ljbffr Creative Financial Staffing, LLC
