Master Production Scheduler

GAM is seeking a Master Production Scheduler to play a key role in driving our manufacturing operations. This position will develop, optimize, communicate, and maintain the company’s master production plan, balancing customer demand, CNC machine capacity, materials, inventory, and lead times to ensure orders are produced efficiently and shipped on time. The Master Production Scheduler will be responsible for maximizing CNC machine utilization while aligning production schedules with overall manufacturing and shipment priorities. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with Sales, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to coordinate priorities, identify and resolve scheduling challenges, and keep production moving efficiently. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on customer demand, capacity, materials, and delivery requirements. Create and manage CNC machine schedules to maximize utilization, efficiency, and throughput. Coordinate production priorities across Sales, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations . Monitor production progress and adjust schedules based on customer priorities, machine availability, materials, and engineering changes . Identify and proactively address delays, material shortages, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts . Partner with Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, Sales, and Production to ensure jobs remain on schedule. Review inventory, capacity, lead times, and demand to support effective planning decisions. Maintain accurate scheduling and planning data within GAM’s ERP/MRP system . Track on-time production and shipment performance and communicate updates to management. Identify opportunities to improve machine utilization, scheduling efficiency, throughput, and on-time delivery . Support capacity planning and long-term production planning as GAM grows. Participate in cross-functional planning meetings and recommend improvements to production and operational efficiency . QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, CNC scheduling, materials planning, or manufacturing operations. Experience in high-mix/low-volume, precision, or engineered-to-order manufacturing , preferably CNC. Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management . Experience scheduling CNC machines or other production equipment . Proficiency with Excel and ERP/MRP systems ; Epicor experience preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
