Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Meridian, Idaho.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/14/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 14, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring AWHONN fetal monitoring certification and prior L&D circulating experience.Details\n \n Work in the Women's Services unit of an acute care hospital\n Labor & Delivery unit with 10 L&D beds, 4 triage beds, and 10 postpartum beds\n Unit averages approximately 120 births per month\n Circulate in 2 OR suites for C-sections\n Care for laboring patients 32 weeks and greater, elective and medical inductions, stable antepartum patients, postpartum patients, and well newborns\n Follows AWHONN staffing standards with 1:1 ratios in L&D and 1:6 couple care in postpartum\n Uses EPIC EMR\n Uses GE Connect EFM system\n 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with weekend and holiday coverage based on unit needs\n No call or standby requirements\n Required to float to sister L&D units within approximately 20 minutes of the facility, and may occasionally float as a sitter to Med-Surg or ED\n Staff may not work more than five consecutive shifts\n Charge RN, Resource RN, and House Supervisor are staffed on every shift without patient assignments\n CNAs support the floor 4-5 days and nights per week, with 24/7 unit clerk coverage\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (ID or compact) required\n BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required\n AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required\n STABLE certification required (must have been taken at least once)\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n L&D, postpartum, and circulating experience required\n Triage experience strongly preferred\n Experience titrating drips including Pitocin, magnesium, and occasionally insulin required\n Driver's license required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care to laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn patients including circulating for C-sections\n Titrate medications per protocol including Pitocin and magnesium\n OB hospitalist and midwives available 24/7, along with Neonatal NP 24/7 and Neonatologist on call within 15 minutes\n CRNA anesthesia coverage available 24/7\n Unit provides blue scrubs\n Unit-specific orientation typically 4-6 shifts, customized per traveler\n Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts over the course of the 13-week assignment\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility\n Former permanent employees must wait one year before applying for a travel assignment\n Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility\n No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-747628.
