Make a meaningful impact by providing specialized support as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist at a welcoming middle school near Plano, TX. This rewarding contract opportunity focuses on helping one student maximize mobility, independence, and confidence in their educational experience.

Your responsibilities will include conducting sessions directly with your assigned student—30 minutes, twice weekly—using evidence-based practices and your expertise as a certified professional. Working closely with school staff, you'll help foster a positive and inclusive environment while supporting the student's unique needs. Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid and active COMS licensure required
• Proven experience providing orientation and mobility services for school-aged children
• Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to conduct on-site mobility assessments and develop tailored instructional plans
• Strong communication skills and compassionate approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct orientation and mobility instruction to one middle school student (ages 11–14)
• Design and implement skill-building activities tailored to the student’s goals
• Observe, document progress, and communicate updates with school staff and parents
• Develop safe travel routes and strategies within the campus environment
• Promote independence and safety across school settings
