Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a rotating shift position requiring pediatric and neonate experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department in an acute care hospital
• Pediatric and neonate patient population
• Rotating schedule including days and nights, 5:30a-6p and 5:30p-6a shifts
• No call required
• No floating required
• EMR system used is MedHost
• Any color scrubs permitted

Requirements

• RRT or CRT license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Pediatric and neonate experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (NRP may be obtained before or immediately after start)
• NM state license required
• No certifications expiring within first 30 days of assignment start
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Valid driver's license and US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor responses to respiratory treatments and pharmacological interventions
• Perform and document Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) punctures and report results promptly
• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including intubations and arterial line insertions
• Manage ventilator settings and airway maintenance for optimal patient safety and comfort
• Perform pulmonary function studies and cardiac and pulmonary stress tests
• Follow respiratory protocols and ensure adherence to safety guidelines and regulatory standards
• Does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees who worked as permanent staff at this facility within the past 2 years will not be considered
• Requests for time off must be less than one week
