Senior Property Accountant The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the day‑to‑day accounting of commercial real‑estate assets, closing the books and records for approximately 10–12 properties and all ancillary accounting related to these assets. Responsibilities Maintain the financial statements for a portfolio of assets. Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Conduct monthly variance analysis. Manage weekly cash operations, including weekly check runs and tenant rent timing outreach. Analyze monthly partnership distributions and cash calls. Meet monthly with property managers to discuss and report on property issues and financials. Reconcile quarterly balance sheets. Review quarterly capital expenditures within the property portfolio. Prepare quarterly cash‑flow forecasts. Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets. Assist in annual CAM reconciliations for tenants. Assist in annual tax returns and audits. Support ad‑hoc accounting and property‑management projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. 3–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the commercial real‑estate industry. Detail‑oriented and analytical. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines. Understanding of variance analysis comparing actual to budget. Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office. Experience with Mortgage Recording Information (MRI) systems is a plus. Prepared to take on ad‑hoc projects as assigned.
