Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable

Accounting Specialist provides a multitude of functions in the Treasurer's office. To serve, assist and support the office and maintain a high level of efficiency, professionalism and effectiveness in the school district. Qualifications include strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with district employees, work history that demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and good attendance, ability to work independently, knowledge of Infinite Campus preferred, knowledge of State Software Redesign, knowledge of SCView, DocuWare, Edge Solutions preferred, proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word, open to change and willing to be involved in the change process, high school diploma, experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable preferred.

Responsibilities include processing purchase orders through the SCView system, distributing purchase orders to buildings, following purchase order procedures from start to finish, processing invoices and payments via the accounts payable function, providing a variety of accounts payable functions to the treasurer's office, processing deposits which arrive at the board of education, posting district receipts including recurring payments from the state and local governments, student activity functions including fundraisers, budgets and cash advances, scanning of all payment and receipt packets into DocuWare, being familiar with and carrying out the school policies as directed by the school board, superintendent and treasurer, adhering to Ohio Ethics Law, including confidentiality, assisting with the daily operation of the treasurer's office, maintaining public records requests as required by Ohio Sunshine Law, monitoring and processing budgetary transfers and transactions as needed, and any and all other duties assigned by the CFO/Treasurer.
