Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Salary: $160,650 - 217,350 per year Requirements:

• We require an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance, or one that has been active within the past 24 months.
• We require the ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP).
• We require a bachelors degree or equivalent.
• We require at least 9 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, software engineering, or cloud engineering.
• We require experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• We require experience in technical leadership.
• We require experience designing and implementing scalable computing infrastructure for data solutions, including cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• We prefer a Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, plus 9+ years of related experience; or a bachelors degree plus 13+ years of directly related experience; or 17+ years of relevant experience.
• We prefer experience administering GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, GitLab runners, or similar enterprise source control and CI/CD platforms.
• We prefer experience administering Jira, Confluence, or other Atlassian tools.
• We prefer experience administering PostgreSQL, including backup and recovery, replication, query troubleshooting, storage management, and performance tuning.
• We prefer experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, configuration management, container platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, virtualization, or cloud-native services.
• We prefer experience with Artifactory, SonarQube, Jenkins, or comparable software delivery tools.
• We prefer experience designing or improving monitoring, alerting, dashboards, operational metrics, and SLOs.
• We prefer experience supporting Air Dominance, classified, air-gapped, or highly regulated engineering environments.
• We prefer experience with disaster recovery planning, continuity of operations, backup validation, and restore testing.
• We prefer experience leading technical investigations, post-incident reviews, and corrective action plans.
• We prefer the ability to obtain Security+ certification.
• We prefer demonstrated ability to balance customer urgency, system reliability, security requirements, and change control.
• We prefer strong customer focus and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• We operate and maintain GitLab, GitLab CI/CD runners, Jira, Confluence, PostgreSQL, and related developer tooling infrastructure.
• We lead deployment and configuration of software development technologies, including build servers, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• We administer cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure using approved AWS, Microsoft Azure, Linux, virtualization, or container platform capabilities.
• We serve as technical owners for platform reliability, availability, performance, capacity, backup, recovery, and operational readiness.
• We troubleshoot complex issues across applications, databases, runners, pipelines, infrastructure, networks, storage, and performance.
• We develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, and other automation for provisioning, configuration, scaling, health checks, reporting, backup validation, and routine operations.
• We plan and execute approved changes, including application upgrades, security patching, database maintenance, runner lifecycle work, and infrastructure updates.
• We strengthen monitoring, alerting, dashboards, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, KPIs, error budgets, and operational metrics.
• We lead administration, maintenance, version upgrades, patching, and integrations across tools such as Jira, GitLab, Artifactory, Confluence, and SonarQube.
• We define, gather, analyze, and refine delivery and reliability metrics to support data-driven decisions.
• We support incident response, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and post-incident reviews.
• We mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on SRE practices, secure administration, automation, and troubleshooting.
• We collaborate with developers, project administrators, cybersecurity staff, infrastructure teams, database administrators, and program stakeholders.
• We improve runbooks, standard operating procedures, architecture documentation, and disaster recovery procedures.
• We assess platform risks, capacity trends, recurring incidents, and operational toil, then recommend and implement improvements.
• We lead demonstrations, track progress, and present technical status to customers and management.
• We drive process improvements that help us deliver higher-quality end-to-end system software more frequently.
• We participate in after-hours support for urgent or mission-impacting issues when needed.
