Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

$23.87 per hour

Temporary 3 to 6 Months

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will accurately assign medical codes, process insurance claims, and ensure timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and payer regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Review patient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.

· Prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims for timely reimbursement.

· Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.

· Resolve billing discrepancies, denied claims, and payment issues.

· Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation.

· Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries.

· Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding guidelines.

· Meet productivity and quality standards while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

· Assist with additional billing and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Medical Billing and Coding preferred (CPC, CCS, or equivalent).

· Minimum of 1–2 years of medical billing and coding experience preferred.

· Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology.

· Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software.

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

· Excellent communication and customer service skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
