Job Title: Human Resources Specialist Location (city, state): Northern Virginia, VA Industry: Professional Services Pay: $85,000–$100,000/yr DOE Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision and 401K About Our Client: Addison Group is partnering with our client, a well-established professional organization, to identify a Human Resources Specialist to join its HR team. This position will provide broad HR support across recruiting, onboarding, HR systems, employee programs, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple HR functions. Job Description: The Human Resources Specialist will support day-to-day HR operations and employee lifecycle activities while partnering with employees, managers, candidates, HR leadership, and external partners. This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys managing processes, maintaining accurate information, coordinating HR programs, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate recruiting processes for assigned positions, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communications, interview documentation, and maintaining recruiting records. Work closely with hiring managers and recruiting partners to keep searches moving efficiently and provide a positive candidate experience. Assist with internship and entry‑level talent initiatives throughout the recruiting and hiring process. Coordinate new-hire activities, including HR documentation, onboarding tasks, orientation logistics, communications, and follow‑up. Respond to routine employee and manager questions and provide guidance on established HR processes and procedures. Maintain employee information, HR records, reports, trackers, and workforce data with a high degree of accuracy. Support HRIS administration, data maintenance, reporting, system transactions, and periodic audits. Assist with annual performance management activities, including communications, deadlines, system processes, tracking, and reporting. Coordinate employee development, training, and other HR programs, including logistics, communications, participation tracking, and vendor coordination. Assist with employee engagement surveys and other employee feedback initiatives and help summarize results and identify trends. Support HR policy administration, handbook updates, documentation, and related communications. Coordinate exit interview activities, maintain appropriate documentation, and help identify recurring employee feedback themes. Prepare HR materials, process documentation, reports, presentations, and other resources used to support recurring HR activities. Assist with HR projects, system updates, process enhancements, and other initiatives designed to improve HR operations. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and organizational information. Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Experience supporting multiple areas of HR, including recruiting, onboarding, HR operations, employee programs, performance management, and HR systems. Experience working with an HRIS and applicant tracking system. Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate employee and HR records. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, managers, candidates, and external partners.
