Facilities TechnicianThe Facilities Technician supports the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of a manufacturing facility by performing custodial tasks, assisting with general facility maintenance, and completing daily safety checks on equipment. This role helps maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and efficient environment that enables smooth production operations.ResponsibilitiesAssist with custodial duties throughout the facility, ensuring all areas remain clean, orderly, and presentable.Support the facilities team in maintaining building facilities, including production areas, common spaces, and support areas.Perform routine custodial tasks such as emptying trash receptacles, sweeping floors, polishing floors, and completing other cleaning functions as needed.Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines and surrounding work areas to support safe and efficient operations.Monitor and empty machine chip bins regularly to prevent buildup and maintain a clean production environment.Complete daily safety checklists on equipment and report any issues or concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel.Follow all safety procedures and facility guidelines while performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.Collaborate with team members to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the facility.Essential SkillsPrevious cleaning or custodial experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Experience performing general facility and custodial duties, including sweeping, trash removal, and floor care.Ability to perform janitorial tasks safely around machinery and production equipment.Capability to follow daily safety checklists and adhere to established safety procedures.Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness of machines, floors, and work areas.Reliability and consistency in completing routine tasks and supporting facility upkeep.Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a manufacturing setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with cleaning around manufacturing equipment and machine shops.Comfort working in a production environment that involves power manifolds and related components.Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative on facility and custodial tasks.Good communication skills to coordinate with the facilities team and production staff.Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Why Work Here?The company offers a highly stable and secure work environment with a long history of consistent operations, even during challenging economic periods. The company has a track record of stability and has continued operations without layoffs during past economic downturns.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
