Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to establish and lead DevSecOps practices for the DataOne Re-Architecture program.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, cloud platform operations, monitoring, security integration, and release management.
This role will drive engineering automation, AI-assisted DevOps practices, platform reliability, and operational excellence while enabling rapid and secure delivery of enterprise data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the DevOps strategy and implementation for the DataOne Re-Architecture program.
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines for data engineering and application workloads, including multi-environment gated promotion (Dev â†' QA â†' Pre-Prod â†' Prod) with tolerance-gated release checkpoints.
Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to provision and manage cloud infrastructure consistently across environments.
Automate deployment, configuration management, environment provisioning, and release processes using Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) for pipeline packaging and release.
Implement monitoring, observability, logging, alerting, and incident management frameworks to improve platform reliability.
Drive platform resiliency, scalability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity capabilities.
Establish DevSecOps practices by integrating security scanning, vulnerability management, compliance checks, and policy enforcement into CI/CD pipelines, including security review and approval workflows for AI models used within data pipelines.
Optimize cloud infrastructure utilization, performance, availability, and operational costs.
Enable automated testing, deployment validation, rollback strategies, and release governance.
Collaborate with Data Engineering, Product Owners, Architects, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless software delivery.
Define DevOps standards, reusable templates, automation frameworks, and engineering best practices.
Mentor DevOps engineers and promote a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Required Technical Skills:

Strong experience with GitLab for source control and CI/CD, and Databricks Workflows for pipeline orchestration, release management, and scheduling.
Hands-on expertise in designing CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications and enterprise data platforms, including DABs for multi-environment deployment and gated promotion.
Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep).
Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, networking, identity management, and security best practices.
Experience managing deployments for Azure Databricks and Snowflake environments. Working knowledge of Databricks cluster policies, autoscaling configuration, and DBU cost/FinOps reporting.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and alerting using Grafana and Databricks SQL dashboards, with PagerDuty and Teams for tiered incident alerting, or equivalent tools. Strong understanding of Git branching strategies, release governance, environment management, and change control.
Familiarity with enterprise authentication, RBAC, Key Vault, secrets management, and certificate management, including Unity Catalog governance-as-code (RBAC provisioning, PII/CPNI tagging, and static/dynamic masking automation). AI & Automation Expectations Leverage AI-assisted DevOps tools to improve pipeline creation, code reviews, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational efficiency. Build intelligent automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment validation, monitoring, incident response, and operational support.
Implement automated compliance, security validation, and self-service deployment capabilities.
Evaluate and adopt emerging AI-powered DevOps practices that improve engineering productivity and platform reliability.
Leadership Expectations Define and drive the DevOps roadmap aligned with business and engineering objectives.
Establish engineering standards, governance, and automation-first practices across the program. Lead release planning, environment management, and production readiness activities.
Mentor and coach DevOps engineers while fostering collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.
Proactively identify operational risks, reliability concerns, security gaps, and scalability challenges, and implement mitigation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8 to 12+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering, with at least 2 to 3 years in a technical leadership role.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud modernization and data platform transformation programs.
Azure certifications (Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect) are preferred.
Knowledge of Snowflake administration and data platform deployment practices is an advantage. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
