Project Controller (Traveler) - Federal

Gilbane is seeking a Project Controller to lead all financial administration and fiscal management aspects of a mega project, or multiple large/mid-size projects while ensuring all team members are following Gilbane financial policies and procedures and communicating any potential profitability or risks to leadership. This role offers the opportunity to work in Massachusetts and across the country with regular travel to Federal project sites.Who are we? ResponsibilitiesTrains and supports project teams in all project accounting proceduresSupervises and trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks; manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standardsEnsures accuracy and completion of project forecastAssists in the financial closing process including development of risk and opportunity analysisWorks and acts as an Independent Accountant during project forecast meetings to mitigate financial riskEvaluates change management for inconsistencies and risk impacts on projectsMonitors key indicators for managing and analyzing risk projects while keeping Accounting Manager and/or Business Controller informed on any noted concernsAssists the Accounting Manager or Business Controller with monthly Work in Process (WIP)Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team membersTravel to project sites at least quarterlyAids in communicating companyTravel to project sites at least quarterlyAids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports Other ad-hoc support as needed QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field8-10 years of experience project accounting experience on commercial and/or Federal construction projects valued at $100M or larger Or equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong written and verbal communication skillsClose attention to detailKnowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and construction accounting preferredExperience with Procore, LCPTracker, Textura and CMiC is preferredSalary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.For (Massachusetts) this ranges from $111,000-$169,800 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
