Gastroenterology Physician Assistant

Central Florida Hospital Locums Job Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider Inpatient Weekday Coverage Jackson and Coker is partnered with a hospital in the greater Orlando area that needs inpatient GI advanced practice support (NP/PA) beginning in 2027. The facility is seeking 1-2 Advanced Practitioners to get proactively privileged to help pick up coverage as needed in the new year. Have the opportunity to assist with full week stretches (Monday-Monday) and long weekends when staffed providers take time off and/or the schedule has gaps. Are you available? Coverage Needed: Seeking Monday - Sunday inpatient coverage from 7:30am-4:30pm starting in 2027 No night or weekend call coverage needed typically No set dates at this time, seeking up to 10 days per quarter + sporadic vacation coverage Details/Requirements for Assignment : + Must be an actively Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant + Florida Medical License required + Must have experience working in busy inpatient settings for the GI Service Line + Can anticipate working a minimum of 8 hours a day and up to 10-12 on busier days + Busy service line (up to 30 patients per day split with physician) + Will be covering the ED and doing 100% inpatient work; Will need to do daily patient rounding, emergent procedures + new consults + Must be comfortable seeing new consults and scheduling scopes in collaboration with GI + Must be comfortable diagnosing, managing and creating plans of care + medication for GI patients + Will work alongside of 3 Staffed GIs (1 covering call at a time) + Facility has 2 other inpatient APPs (coverage is to give them time off) + Facility detail: not a designated trauma center, 375+ bed facility, central Florida location (about an hour from Orlando), Epic EMR The Jackson and Coker Advantage: Join a team that prioritizes your peace of mind so you can focus on patient care.
