Facilities Associate

Position Overview Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Associate is responsible for providing onsite facility services and day‑to‑day maintenance for Green Dot’s schools in Los Angeles, CA. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provide facility‑ and maintenance‑related services for all Green Dot schools as assigned. Respond to facilities requests in a timely manner using the maintenance work order system; accurately input, schedule, close and track work orders with superb communication to the requestor. Proactively identify facilities maintenance needs. Ensure custodial staff is maintaining a clean and safe environment. Ensure school staff adhere to facilities safety per local and state code requirements and general best practices. Travel between all Green Dot school sites as needed. Work overtime, Saturdays and Sundays (as needed) to serve Green Dot Los Angeles schools. Respond to any facility‑related emergency 24hours a day, 7 days a week. Work cooperatively and effectively with faculty and staff, without direct supervision on some assigned projects. Assume additional tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager and/or the Director of Facilities. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or general education degree (GED); trade certification/licensing is a plus. Skills and knowledge to perform facility maintenance activities and light repair (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, furniture repair, lock repair, drywall, painting, plastering, carpet, and roofs). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Basic computer skills. At least 3years of experience in facility maintenance, including routine use of power tools. Physical ability to bend, squat, kneel, lift at least 50lbs, climb and balance on ladders 6.0feet tall or less, and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously. Access to a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance. Dependable, sense of humor, and solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission. Ability to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer. JOB REQUIREMENTS Work Hours: Consistent attendance during scheduled hours; flexibility limited by classroom or operational requirements. Physical Requirements: Interacting with prospective families, traveling across Los Angeles County, walking or standing for long periods or moving through school areas. Social Requirements: Extensive interaction with students, colleagues, and members of the public. On‑Site Presence: Regular in‑person attendance required; remote work not an option. COMPENSATION Hourly rate: $23.19 – $25.05 based on education.
