Lead Software Engineer, UAT Payments Technology

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience.
• Experience troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining Cucumber/Gherkin, Java, Selenium, or comparable tools.
• Functional knowledge of the payments domain and testing processes, including defining requirements, documenting user stories and test scripts, and carrying out test execution.
• Previous experience using test automation tools for efficient, timely end-to-end testing.
• Ability to work independently on day-to-day activities, with strong organization and attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurately under tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including structuring complex issues, learning unfamiliar processes quickly, and recommending timely remediation.
• Ability to maintain a strategic perspective, identify process improvement opportunities, and develop recommendations.
• Ability to use data-driven reporting to support program updates.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including providing concise updates and working effectively across business lines toward shared goals.
• Preferred: Experience with Business Driven Development, Test Driven Development, or test case automation.
• Preferred: Testing experience in financial services, supporting multiple lines of business in complex, high-pressure, high-volume environments.
• Preferred: Strong numeracy and Microsoft skills, including the ability to create polished presentations with minimal guidance.

• Lead the test teams daily work, supervise and allocate duties, resolve testing issues promptly, communicate with the reporting manager, and provide accurate testing estimates during daily scrum calls.
• Plan requirements against the end-to-end test strategy, covering test data, environments, defect management, and test automation.
• Lead daily scrum calls, deputize for the Program Test Manager at fortnightly Delivery Working Group meetings, and manage expectations across stakeholders and teams supporting end-to-end test execution.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and synergies across project testing; share proposed approaches with team members for review before implementation.
• Assess team members knowledge and skills, document gaps, address them, and support transferability of UAT skills across the team.
• Escalate daily issues to the Programme Test Manager and communicate testing progress and project timelines.
• Define test scenarios and write test scripts using approaches such as Gherkin.
• Work closely with Operations, Product, and Technology teams; monitor and report testing defects, manage retesting, and validate and present results for internal sign-off.
• Manage critical testing activities accurately and to demanding deadlines.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistants and software development lifecycle tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, productivity, and automation value. Validate outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices, and share reusable learnings with the team.
