Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in orthopedic, spine, neuro, and telemetry care on a night shift schedule.

Details

• 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, spine, and neuro patients
• Serves as a secondary stroke unit and also cares for general cardiac/telemetry patients
• Patients are admitted from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct MD office referrals
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a Compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• Ortho, spine, neuro, and/or telemetry nursing experience required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Copies of certifications and license verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, implementing nursing interventions, and facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Provides patient and family education and coordinates individualized treatment plans with the interdisciplinary care team
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
• Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors the accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members
• Holistic, evidence-based nursing practice is emphasized in this unit
