JOB DESCRIPTION – BREAKFAST ATTENDANT

POSITION: Breakfast Attendant
REPORTS TO: Xperience Manager / General Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous food service, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred

• Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

• Early morning availability required

• Typical schedule between 6:00am – 11:00am

• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of the complimentary breakfast service at The Sage. This position plays a key role in guest satisfaction by ensuring a clean, well-stocked, and welcoming breakfast experience. The Breakfast Attendant delivers friendly, attentive service while maintaining food quality, safety, and sanitation standards consistent with hotel policies and brand expectations.

• Prepare, maintain, and break down the breakfast area according to hotel standards

• Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and presentation at all times

• Communicate effectively with management and Front Desk regarding guest needs or issues

• Set up the breakfast area prior to service, including food stations, beverages, utensils, and seating areas

• Stock, replenish, and monitor breakfast items throughout service to ensure availability and freshness

• Break down breakfast area after service and prepare space for daily operations

• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to breakfast service

• Adhere to all food handling, sanitation, and health department regulations

• Monitor food temperatures and quality throughout service

• Properly store, label, rotate, and dispose of food items using FIFO practices

• Maintain cleanliness of counters, tables, floors, equipment, and back-of-house areas

• Greet guests in a courteous, welcoming manner and assist with breakfast-related questions

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests or concerns

• Maintain a calm, friendly demeanor during peak breakfast periods

• Act as a brand ambassador for The Sage by delivering approachable, value-driven service

• Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and paper goods

• Communicate shortages, waste, or supply needs to management

• Coordinate with Front Desk and management regarding guest flow or special needs

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and presentation
