Job Details:


• 24-hour shift rotation from 11:00 AM to 11:00 AM
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required with scheduled rotation including weekend days on/off
• Holidays as needed and available
• May need to float to other locations in the north region based on staffing levels on scheduled work days to maximize critical needs
• Travelers may be placed on call for low census hours; if called back, call back minimum is 2 hours
• Orientation may take place at another campus if no ALS provider is present on site (example locations include Wausau, Eagle River, and Ironwood, MI)
• Crew configurations may be a mix of EMT/Medic, Medic/Medic, RN/EMT, or RN/Medic depending on daily staffing
• Charting system utilized is the Zoll EMS Charts platform; training will be provided
• Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients
• Perform ongoing assessment and required documentation of patient care
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patient charts
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment as appropriate
• Initiate and implement interventions based on protocols
• Assist with treatments and tests ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse
• Identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse
• Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment in high-pressure situations
• Must exhibit strong decision-making skills and ability to recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions
• Minimum 1 year of paramedic experience required; 3 years preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; High School diploma and successful completion of an EMS paramedic program required
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility (radius rule expires 9/25)
• Required certifications and licensure: Wisconsin EMT Paramedic Certification, Michigan Paramedic Certification, Active Wisconsin Driver's License in good standing, AHA or ARC BLS, AHA or ARC ACLS, AHA or ARC PALS
• Wisconsin Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) Endorsement preferred
• Candidates with current or prior NREMT-P certification may be eligible to obtain Michigan licensure through reciprocity
