Activity Aide

Activity Aide ALIYA of Evanston is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Aide to join our team in Evanston, Illinois . In this role, you will help create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for our residents by assisting with recreational, social, and therapeutic activities that promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. If you enjoy working with seniors and are passionate about making a difference every day. Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily recreational, social, educational, and group activities for residents. Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one engagement for those unable to attend group activities. Prepare activity materials, decorate event spaces, and assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings. Transport residents to and from activities as needed while ensuring their safety and comfort. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members through compassionate communication. Observe and report changes in resident participation, behavior, or overall well-being to the Activities Director. Maintain attendance records and documentation of resident participation. Ensure activity areas and supplies remain clean, organized, and well-stocked. Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and resident safety guidelines. Assist with other departmental duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in activities, recreation, customer service, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred but not required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Positive attitude with a genuine passion for working with the elderly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist residents as needed during activities. Must pass all required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
