Basic qualifications and/or traits that the electrician must possess include:Electrical knowledge and aptitude.Have reliable attendance and safety records.Must be able to arc weld and use cutting torches.Be able to work without constant supervision.Be able to give and take directions.Knowledge of safe operations of mobile equipment used throughout all areas of the plant.Responsibilities: The responsibilities of an electrician include, but are not limited to:Safety inspections of working areas shall be performed a minimum of once per shift as required by federal mining regulations. Additional inspections may be required as conditions warrant.The electrician is responsible for performing electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs to all pieces of machinery and infrastructure throughout all MCC operations.The electrician is responsible for performing housekeeping duties in his work area to remove slip/trip/fall hazards. Work activities must be performed while adhering to all applicable federal/state regulations and MCC company policies at all times.Electricians must maintain a complete set of tools within ninety (90) days of being assigned this job classification. A complete list of tools will be provided upon hire.Electricians may be required to operate mobile equipment. Proper task training and safe operation guidelines will be adhered to at all times.
