PRN RN - Emergency Department

Responsibilities A PRN caregiver in this position works varying shifts, which may include 7:00AM - 7:00PM, 7:00PM - 7:00AM, 11:00AM - 11:00PM or 3:00PM - 3:00AM. Working a minimum of 48 hours per 6-week period and one holiday based on the nursing unit needs is required. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience. Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90‑day probationary period could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval. Will consider military RN experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA or American Red Cross – willing to obtain within one year of employment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the AHA or American Red Cross – willing to obtain within one year of employment. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC – adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC – pediatric) or willing to complete within 24 months of employment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Physical Requirements Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $43.00 Maximum hourly: $43.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
