Adaptive Skills Trainer

ADAPTIVE SKILLS TRAINER - BA Degree
- Provide direct support and guidance to individuals with diverse needs in daily living activities. - Implement individualized plans to enhance life skills development. - Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols. - Support individuals in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks. - Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive interactions. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, behavioral health specialists, and educators. - Work closely with individuals on the autism spectrum to facilitate skill-building and social interactions. - Demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language for effective communication with hearing-impaired individuals. Experience: - Prior experience in special education or working with individuals with diverse abilities is preferred. - Proficiency in behavior management strategies and direct support techniques. - Ability to drive and transport individuals as needed for community outings or appointments. Nice-to-Have Skills: - Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum. - Experience in medication administration and adherence to healthcare protocols. - Knowledge of ADLs and their importance in promoting independence. - Background in behavioral health or social work.
