About the Position

The role requires 2+ years of experience in a medical surgical setting. Candidates should be comfortable managing a patient ratio of 5. Experience with Cerner charting system is required. Skills needed include accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. Central line blood draw and colostomy/ileostomy management are also part of the responsibilities. The nurse will be responsible for continuous bladder irrigation and feeding tube care. Knowledge of heparin protocols, insulin administration, and interpretation of dysrhythmias is essential. Isolation precautions and PPE usage must be practiced at all times. Candidates should manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Experience in wound care and tracheostomy management is necessary. The nurse will work within an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Daily census and patient care activities will focus on maintaining high-quality care standards.
