Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years License: Current RN License Certifications: BCLS, PALS, ACLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 5 - Experience with charting system Cerner Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. The nurse will work a day shift of 3x12 hours. Every other weekend is required. The contract length is 13 weeks with a possibility of extension. Certifications required include BCLS, PALS, and ACLS. Travel experience is not required for this position. The unit cannot guarantee scheduling requests but will try to accommodate travelers as best as possible. The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients. Daily census expectations will be for 5 patients. The nurse will perform various skills including accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and phlebotomy. Additional responsibilities will include managing cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various therapy and service teams. The nurse will be expected to adhere to isolation precautions and use of personal protective equipment. Wound care and management of surgical drains will also be part of the duties.
