Overview NTB / Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices is hiring Automotive Mechanics in the Houston, TX area. With over 2,000 retail locations, Mavis is a large tire sales and automotive repair chain in the United States. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. Perform undercar repairs including brakes, struts, and shocks. Complete state-mandated inspections, change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts, and dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires. Qualifications Minimum requirements: at least 18 years old; legally authorized to work in the United States; 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; and an extensive personal toolbox of tools used in undercar repairs. Preferred: state inspection license(s); ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5). Physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive movements; regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
