Substitute Custodian District Wide Shift Hours: Varies by day and building. Please see attached job description. During the summer the hours may be modified to a day shift. Position Purpose: The Custodian supports the staff and students of USD 232 by providing a safe, clean, operational, and productive learning environment with a customer service mindset. Starting Salary: $16.64/hour (commensurate with experience). Anticipated start date: Rolling start date through the school year. Requirements: All employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). If you've had a recent TB Test (less than 12 months ago) we can accept a copy of your test results. If it's been more than 1 year ago, you will be required to obtain a new test. Employees are responsible for the cost of the test. Must pass standardized strength & agility testing requiring lifting up to 50 pounds. Must submit a pre employment physical prior to first day of work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read chemical labels
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Must be available to work some weekends
• Completion of clear, criminal background check
• Current Certificate of Health, including negative TB test on file in District office
• Must pass standard strength and agility test
• Requires prolonged sitting or standing

Physical Requirements & Conditions

Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects, up to 50 pounds. Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching. Requires climbing and balancing. Must work indoors and outdoors year-round. Must work in noisy and crowded environments. Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors. Provide safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment to ensure full and productive use of district facilities.

• Appropriately operate all equipment and machines as required
• Recognize and apply district safety standards with both materials and equipment
• Clean and maintain district owned equipment
• Recognize, implement, and follow establish policies and procedures
• Set up and tear down for school activities and renters using District facilities
• Plan scheduling for district facility needs
• Assist with snow removal of district facilities
