PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Director of Security Branch of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS. Responsibilities You will determine the eligibility of persons to occupy a National Security sensitive position, based on current security concerns related to suitability for employment. You will review requests for security clearances, evaluating the sensitivity classification of the position by applying need-to-know principles and pertinent security guidelines, reviewing and evaluating background investigation reports. You will design and conduct other security-related briefings, including the in-person, annual Security refresher briefing for the entire command and other educational security presentations. You will help to ensure implementation of the Continuous Evaluation Program (CEP) and will counsel all SSP personnel regarding their responsibilities in the CEP. You will request investigations as required by the sensitivity of the position in relation to national security. You will conduct and review fingerprint results to determine the security eligibility of individuals for access to sensitive information, material, resources, or work areas. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing background investigations, adjudications, and national security suitability or fitness determinations in accordance with federal guidelines; performing day to day Personnel Security Functions to include briefings, intake processing, and separation processing; and/or providing Personnel Security training to command personnel.
